What You'll Do
- →WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Contract Specialist - GS-1102-14, you will: Review acquisition documents justifying the methods of contracting, types of contracts, the preparation of applicable determinations and findings, justification and approvals, and to respond to vendor inquiries as required.
- →Consult with HRSA Bureau/Office Directors on difficult and unusual problems relating to evaluation criteria, history of relations with previous acquisitions and contractors, and specific conditions or problems related to the type of acquisitions being considered.
- →Maintain a current awareness of legal and regulatory issues, policy and procedural developments, precedent-setting award or appeal decisions, management principles and methods, and administrative technologies affecting large acquisitions/negotiated contract management.
- →Develop, interpret and deliver briefings, reports and other documents and to present team and study findings and recommendations to individuals, groups and boards on a broad spectrum of topics related to HRSA acquisition/contract programs, policies and procedures in a style that is appropriate and understandable to the target audience.
- →Perform cradle-to-grave contracting activities, including acquisition planning, negotiations, contract administration, source selection, and closeout while ensuring compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and providing acquisition guidance to program officials.
