About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Procurement Operations (OPO), Office of Selective Acquisitions Division (OSAD). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior contract specialist responsible for pre-award and/or post award and to plan, direct, and administer complex acquisitions for classified and sensitive products and services. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
What You'll Do
- →As a Contract Specialist, GS-1102-13/14, your typical work assignments may include: Managing complex, sensitive, and critical DHS procurement programs and initiatives.
- →Serving as a senior contract specialist authorized to solicit proposals, negotiate, enter into, execute, and administer/terminate the most complex and sensitive public contracts for DHS.
- →Assisting primary customers in developing statements of work and procurement strategy and develops evaluation plans, pricing methodologies, and major contract administration plans.
- →Serving as a point of contact for program officials on acquisition and administrative matters affecting major procurement of supplies and services including formal advertising or negotiation procedures, GSA schedules and strategically sourced vehicles, and the evaluation of the cost and price proposals.
- →Providing authoritative recommendations to improve procurement operations and customer service; and develops or presents training on procurement-related topics.
