About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DoD Government-wide Direct Hire Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position leads structural design for the Alaska District. They work independently on assignments and make key design decisions. They review and approve designs for projects in extreme climates and seismic areas.
What You'll Do
- →Acts as the District’s expert on structural design and ensures projects meet technical standards.
- →Reviews and approves designs, drawings, and technical documents for projects in extreme climates.
- →Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to other engineers on complex structural issues.
- →Participates in project meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to improve designs.
- →Leads inspections and assessments of bridges and other structures to ensure safety and compliance.
