You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, STRUCTURAL 1 (PDC42A) DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an expert in advanced structural engineering concepts, principles and practices as they apply to a wide range of shore facilities including piers, housing, medical facilities, and aviation facilities.
- →You will lead multi-discipline design teams engaged in the design of complex projects.
- →You will develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced structural Engineering software.
- →You will serve as a technical expert and provide engineering and design services to all activities and tenants for a broad range of facilities.
- →You will provide independent, timely and professional specialized structural engineering products, services and consultation for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
