You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER. This position is located within the Lower Colorado Region, Civil Group, Clark County, NV at HOOVER DAM. Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
What You'll Do
- →As a Civil Engineer, you will perform the following duties: The incumbent serves as a civil engineer responsible for supporting the planning, scoping, procurement, design oversight, and construction management of engineering and construction projects throughout the Lower Colorado Dams Office.
- →Work includes major building renovations, paving and roadway improvements, embankment and erosion repairs, rockfall mitigation, facility improvements, and other contracted work at Hoover, Parker, and Davis Dams.
- →Duties include developing and reviewing project scopes, statements of work, performance work statements, technical requirements, independent government cost estimates, acquisition-support documents, and other project documentation needed to procure and manage engineering or construction contracts.
- →The incumbent coordinates with internal stakeholders, facility personnel, acquisition staff, contractors, consultants, and subject matter experts to define project requirements and resolve technical issues.
- →The incumbent completes or reviews engineering studies, evaluations, drawings, specifications, calculations, design criteria, and cost estimates.
- →Reviews are performed for technical adequacy, constructability, completeness, clarity, and consistency with project requirements.
- →The incumbent may also support preliminary design, appraisal-level evaluations, final design review, value planning, and value engineering efforts.
- →During construction, the incumbent supports contract administration by reviewing submittals, coordinating responses to RFIs, evaluating field issues, supporting change order development, reviewing contractor progress, and helping ensure work complies with contract requirements.
- →The incumbent serves as a technical representative for assigned work and coordinates resolution of design, construction, and contract-related issues within the scope of assigned projects.
- →Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
