This detail opportunity incumbent will serve as the Chief of Staff (COS) who reports to the Medical Center Director and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. The COS provides leadership for clinical care, with an emphasis on promotion of access to high quality care for Veterans as well as patient safety.
What You'll Do
- →The Chief of Staff (COS) is actively involved in the VA Pittsburgh Medical Center leadership and management of resources, organizational performance improvement, patient and employee satisfaction, environment of care, and strategic planning.
- →Through persuasive and facilitative skills, influences the quality, access to, and effectiveness of all medical programs through either direct line leadership or collaborate relations with Service Chiefs.
- →The COS promotes standards of clinical competence and conduct for staff which are maintained through compliance with the credentialing and privileging processes, monitoring and evaluation of clinical practice, peer review, and other appropriate quality assurance activities.
- →Leadership-Monitors and ensures staff compliance with agency regulations, medical staff by-laws, rules and regulations, VA facility policies, Joint Commission standards and other appropriate regulations and creates an environment of system oriented quality improvement.

Requirements

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
