What You'll Do
- →The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the primary information technology advisor for the Supreme Court of the United States and leads the development and implementation of the Court's information technology strategies and operations.
- →The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of the Court's business operations and information technology systems in order to align its technology infrastructure with organizational needs.
- →The incumbent must have expertise in strategic IT planning, IT systems and data security, enterprise architecture, data governance, budgeting, personnel management, and IT governance, and must be prepared to develop and implement a vision for the Court's information technology future.
- →The incumbent is the primary liaison between the Office of Information Technology and Chambers and Court leaders, and in that role must be able to communicate effectively and translate complex technical concepts to other senior leaders to support overall management of the Court.
- →The Chief Information Officer reports to the Counselor to the Chief Justice in his capacity as chair of the Court's Information Technology Committee.
- →The Chief Information Officer is a member of the Supreme Court Executive Service.
- →The incumbent will apply technical executive leadership expertise to: Oversee development and maintenance of the Court's multi-year IT enterprise strategy, taking into consideration industry and technology trends that may affect and support the Court's operations.
- →Provide leadership to establish, implement, and sustain an enterprise architecture discipline to guide technology decisions across the Court, ensuring that systems, applications, data, identity and infrastructure align with long-term business strategy, scalability requirements, and security and resilience standards.
- →Develop and manage an integrated budget for IT programs and operations; lead IT capital planning, including the evaluation, selection, and control of IT assets and investments.
- →Lead a professional staff by setting goals, assessing performance, and developing ability; oversee and guide department directors and managers to ensure compliance with policies and collaborative environment; develop a strong organizational culture.
- →Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure that staff possess the technical, cybersecurity, leadership, and service-delivery skills required to support the Court's current and future needs.
- →Present performance metrics including key performance indicators and key risk indicators to leadership.
- →In conjunction with the Chief Information Security Officer and the Court's Information Technology Committee, oversee the development and monitoring of a comprehensive IT security program, including security policies, standards and plans, system testing, administration of security systems, resilience, program compliance, and support for IT security oversight and training programs.
- →Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Court's data and information assets.
Requirements
- ✓A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
