About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 80th Military Intelligence Brigade, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, located at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a Budget Technician for a subordinate and geographically dispersed Cyberspace Battalion Performs a full range of budget formulation, execution, and analysis duties.
- →Develops, compiles, and summarizes the battalion's annual and multi-year budget requests.
- →Establishes and maintains financial records, ledgers, and databases to monitor and track the status of funds across multiple appropriations and lines of accounting (LOA).
- →Interprets and applies a variety of regulations, including DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR) and command-level budget guidance.
- →Provides authoritative advice and guidance on funding availability, financial policies, and proper procedures for requesting and expending funds.
- →Manages the Defense Travel System (DTS), including assigning roles, maintaining traveler profiles, establishing routing lists, and updating lines of accounting.
- →Ensures all travel authorizations and vouchers comply with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and other policies.
- →Provides training to cardholders, distributes guidance on program policies, and takes appropriate action to resolve issues, such as suspending accounts for non-payment or misuse.
- →Gathers, extracts, and analyzes historical spending data on personnel, supplies, equipment, training, travel, and contracts to forecast future funding needs and identify spending trends
