About the Role
National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world. This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of War via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of War.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as principal advisor in the development, formulation and execution of a multi-million-dollar operating budget comprised of both direct and reimbursable, and Title 50 funding.
- →Serves as the liaison between NDU, the Joint Staff and the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW).
- →Creates and recommends adoption of procedures to implement budgetary regulations, policies, and processes.
- →Develops and monitors complex and diverse reimbursement programs included in budget appropriations from the State Department, OSW and other government agencies.
- →Performs in-depth research and advanced analysis in developing the University annual and multi-year program budget plans while exercising sound judgement in developing solutions and establishing priorities.
- →Establishes, develops, and maintains effective work relationships with key customers.
- →Oversees and manages the examination and analysis of budget requests and execution data to ensure accuracy and consistency with strategic priorities, compliance with guidance, regulations, and laws.
Requirements
- ✓Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.

- ✓It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying or prior to appointment as outlined above.
- ✓Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities.
- ✓Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree.
- ✓You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation upon request.
- ✓Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
