About the Role
About the Position: Serves as the Budget Officer responsible for formulating, budgeting, executing, and justifying the use of appropriated funds, to include authorizing the use of such funds by the program directors and subordinate units for the accomplishment of approved mission areas. Develops fiscal strategies and champions innovation and automation of budgetary tools. Serves as the principal advisor to the J-8 director on all budgetary matters.
What You'll Do
- →Presents, justifies, and defends budget before groups, committees, councils and panels.
- →Provides budgetary and technical leadership for the development of cost estimates associated with long-range multi-year studies.
- →Exercises the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff, and in the development of long-range goals and objectives.
- →Analyzes program and budget guidance and instructions from U.S.
- →Africa Command (USAFRICOM) and U.S.
- →Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to determine impact on TSOC operations.
- →Establishes financial management procedures for continual review and surveillance of fund subdivisions and limitations to minimize occurrences of violations of 31 U.S.C. 1517.
- →Administers the Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) overall budgetary management system.
- →Emphasizes and explains budget limitations, program requirements, and directives.
- →Prepares Commanders narrative statement for all budget submissions to USAFRICOM and USSOCOM.
