About the Role
About the Position: Serves as the senior Budget Analyst for US AFRICA COMMAND (AFRICOM), directing and advising junior analysts to perform a wide range of evaluative and analytical duties in support of multiple appropriations for the purposes of budget formulation, program/funds control, program oversight and review, and analysis.
What You'll Do
- →Monitor and evaluate budget execution to ensure funds are executed in accordance with approved program guidance.
- →Select and apply a wide range of complex and unrelated analytical methods and techniques (e.g., programming, planning, budgeting, execution (PPBE), cost-benefit analysis in order to forecast budgetary needs.
- →Study sources of data utilized as the basis for recommendations of fund adjustments between apportionment categories or for new projects not yet within current apportionment.
- →Participate with various management officials in developing the strategy for presenting the budget and provide advice on policy implications, regulations, and legislation.
- →Guide and persuade program managers and other officials in a course of action consistent with established budgetary policies, objectives, and regulations.
- →Review, interpret, and implement budget guidance as applicable to budgets for assigned program areas.
- →Identify problem areas, researches, determines, and implements corrective courses of action.
- →Analyze budgetary relationships and develop recommendations under tight deadlines, short and rapid changes in programs, and gaps in program and budget objectives.
