About the Role

This position is a Budget Analyst role in the FTA Budget Office. The main responsibility is to help develop and manage the agency's budget. The role includes supporting budget planning, tracking and reporting on spending, and helping ensure funds are used effectively. It also involves forecasting, financial planning, and monitoring program performance, as well as providing analysis and insights to support leadership in understanding budget and program status.

What You'll Do

  • As the Budget Analyst, you will: Support the development and justification of multi-million-dollar program budgets.
  • Interpret and applying relevant budget guidance, policies, and financial standards.
  • Develop budget narratives, reports, and briefing materials for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate for this position is a mid-career budget professional with experience in budget planning, execution, and financial analysis for large-scale programs or organizations.
  • The candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge of budgeting principles, financial policies, regulatory guidance, and strategic resource management.

  • A government contractor-issued travel card will be issued and must be retained for official business only.
  • BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: You may be required to complete a background/security investigation and meet preliminary requirements prior to onboarding.
  • PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Applicants may be required to successfully complete a one-year probationary period (unless already completed).
  • You must be a U.S. citizen & meet specialized experience to qualify.
