About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management (OFM). As a Budget Analyst, GS-0560-13, you will serve as a senior budget analyst utilizing a professional knowledge of budget principles and procedures in carrying out complex assignments. This position performs a variety of budgetary and administrative functions in the formulation and execution of CMS's budgets.
What You'll Do
- →The work supports the OFM mission by contributing to the effective stewardship of CMS resources through sound budgetary planning, analysis, and execution across all organizational components.
- →Monitors, reviews, and reconciles commitments, obligations, reimbursable orders.
- →Assures that obligations incurred and resulting expenditures of funds are in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations.
- →Develops written narrative justifications that support the budget requests and are presented to internal and external audiences including CMS leadership, HHS, OMB, and Congress.
- →Develops annual work plans and schedules for the planning and execution of approved budgets.
- →Forecast future revenues and/or cost and evaluate how they relate to program operations.
- →Gathers, compares, and correlates information about projected revenues and/or costs of current and future programs and activities.
- →Identifies issues and provides recommendations for resolution of complex problems.
