You will serve as a Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) (Seasonal) GS-05 working in one of the following locations: Commerce City CO - Colorado Front Range National Wildlife Refuge Complex Jackson WY - National Elk Refuge Open to the first 150 applicants. What You'll Do
- →As a Seasonal - Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists with outdoor projects such as trail maintenance.
- →Uses established automated databases to enter, organize and perform preliminary analysis of collected data, using standard statistical methods in preparation of reports.
- →Enters and retrieves data from geographic information systems (GIS) and/or other information management systems.
- →Assists biologists in studying and preparing reports on effects to ecosystems from development proposals of local, state, and Federal government organizations.
- →Participates in multifaceted wildlife studies, including carrying out a variety of research and survey methods, analyzing established data, and monitoring environmental elements related to conservation, management, and/or control of wildlife.
- →Assists with performing biological studies for determining the manner and extent to which wildlife populations are affected by management activities.
- →Prepares segments of recurring reports such as monthly activities and progress reports on individual projects.
- →Collects biological samples ensuring correct documentation, reporting, storage, transport and delivery of samples taken.
- →Uses field equipment including cameras, GPS equipment, binoculars, rangefinders and computers.
- →Use of hand and power tools and equipment.
- →Loads and unloads materials and equipment.
Requirements

- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
