About the Role

Are you interested in a rewarding and challenging career? This position is located in the SBA OIG Audit Disaster Assistance Programs Group within the Auditing Division. SBA OIG promotes open and honest communication to create a positive work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Exercising technical direction over the collection and analysis of all data; and ensuring that evidence collected is sufficient, relevant, and competent and properly documented and reviewed in the audit work papers.
  • Providing effective team leadership including: (1) proactively identifying and resolving problems that could impact project goals; (2) establishing priorities and adjusting schedules to accomplish the work as timely as possible; and (3) effectively utilizing resources.
  • Informing the project manager of progress, as well as issues that need to be addressed to keep the project on track.
  • Drafting audit reports that provides a logical structure for results presentation, answer the audit objectives and ensuring all elements of a finding are supported by the data.
  • Developing the message and drafting significant portions of other products, such as briefings, message meetings, reports, testimonies, and/or fact sheets; and ensuring all products are clear, convincing, accurate, and thorough.
  • Planning for and participating in key meetings with program officials of audited activities to obtain information and advise them of audit progress.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally in writing and verbally with individuals internal and external to the SBA OIG.
  • Using creative and innovative approaches to identify new audit techniques and methods.
