About the Role
This position is located within the Deputy Inspector General for Evaluations. In this position, you will serve as an Auditor under a Project Manager (PM) and will be responsible to perform broad and complex audit/evaluation oversight assignments.
What You'll Do
- →Serves under a PM and is responsible for independently performing broad and complex assignments in matters relating to the development, improvement, evaluation, and effective accomplishment of audits performed on behalf of or used by the DoW.
- →Performs oversight and evaluation reviews of DoW internal and external auditors.
- →Interprets regulations, policies, and other standards; evaluates consistent application, while recognizing diversity of audit organizations and type of audits.
- →Ensures oversight reviews satisfy stated objectives in accordance with applicable standards and working papers provide a supportable basis for reporting results.
- →Creates and reviews reports for technical competence and adherence to standards.
- →Reviews management responses to recommendations to determine adequacy of corrective actions.
- →Evaluates management non-occurrences and ensures that DIG EVAL position is defensible with respect to the resolution process.
- →Provides training to external auditors in auditing in the DoW environment, and how to comply with Single Audit Act requirements.
- →Coordinates activities when technical expertise is required to assist DoW audit organizations carry out their missions.
Requirements
- ✓Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
- ✓Only experience and/or education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

- ✓All materials must be submitted by the closing date of the announcement.
- ✓Pass/Fail Courses: If more that 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
- ✓Graduate Education: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
- ✓Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis.
- ✓If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
- ✓Accreditation: Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute for experience.
