About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Trade Regulatory Audit (TRA), in one of the following locations listed in the Duties section:

  • In the position of an Auditor (Field Quality), you will be serving as a liaison between the Field Associate Director and Assistant Field Directors on audit, performance, and operational issues that may impact OT/TRA priorities and mission.
  • This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

  • Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Leading the development, revision, and implementation of audit and operational policies and procedures, providing expert recommendations to senior leadership on policy improvements and organizational strategies.
  • Developing periodic reports to the Field Director, Headquarters Division Directors, Senior Regional Directors, Deputy Executive Director, and Executive Director related to systemic and significant quality issues identified.
  • Conducting thorough and systematic evaluations of audit work papers, reports, and supporting documentation to assess the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of audit and NAS assignments and ensuring rigorous adherence to GAGAS, OT/TRA policies, and all relevant Federal regulations.
  • Developing and implementing data management and quality control policies, ensuring that data governance standards align with agency objectives and regulatory requirements.
