About the Role
PLEASE NOTE: Based on the current hiring restrictions, selectees may be subject to additional approvals prior to an offer being extended. This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Internal Controls and Risk Division. As an Auditor, you will conduct and perform reviews associated with the Bureau's internal control and financial management review programs, and perform audit coordination duties.
What You'll Do
- →As an Auditor, you will: Perform reviews as part of the Bureau's internal control and financial management programs, including reviews under the Federal Managers' Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) sections 2 and 4, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), OMB Circulars A-123 and A-127 and other laws and regulations.
- →Prepare review programs that define the scope, objectives, methodology, and tasks to be performed in conducting assigned reviews.
- →Identify and develop issues and develop recommendations to correct control deficiencies or other issues.
- →Work closely with technical staff and the operating managers in the Bureau to facilitate changes required to administer or implement recommendations identified during the review.
- →Perform other management-directed reviews or studies of Bureau operations, as requested by Bureau management.
Requirements
- ✓All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period.

- ✓Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Periodic re-investigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
