What You'll Do

  • About Our Directorate: The Technology Operations directorate conducts various types of audits and evaluations of the Postal Service's cybersecurity and technology processes, tools, and operations.
  • The directorate oversees one of the world's largest technology infrastructures, which includes five national deployment and solution centers, 32,000 network locations, 20,000 servers, and more than 930 applications operating on more than 180,000 devices.
  • The directorate helps to reduce the risk of fraud, inappropriate disclosure of sensitive data, and disruption of critical postal operations and services by assessing whether USPS information resources provide the highest level of security, reliability, and value expected by USPS customers.
  • The directorate also provides oversight of the Postal Service's responsibility to safeguard employees, customers, critical infrastructure, and information systems against cyberthreats.
  • You will act as the authoritative resource for technology systems, applications, and cybersecurity in audits.
  • As manager of the information systems function, you'll address complex problems involving interrelated programs, systems, and policies.
  • Responsibilities include the day-to-day management of work; collaborating with peers and subordinates to ensure effective advisory services; and otherwise ensuring continuous progress toward stated goals.
  • Successful candidates will have experience in: Provides authoritative advisory service and/or develops authoritative policy interpretations for matters related to information technology audits and operations and related data analytics.
  • Schedules projects and staff assignments in compliance with the organization's needs.
  • Develops and communicates strategic framework/outline for audit projects to ensure adequate research, data analysis, audit scope, methodology and field work execution provide sufficient, relevant, reliable and competent evidence of Postal Service functional areas for each audit project.
  • Directs audit projects to ensure professional standards are maintained in the planning and execution phase and in the accumulation of evidentiary data in accordance with OIG policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
  • Counsels and guides subordinates to ensure that the approved audit objectives are met, and that adequate practical coverage is achieved.
  • Reviews and edits audit reports and, in conjunction with the team for the assigned project.
  • Presents oral briefings to management.

  • Education must be accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S.
