About the Role
This position is located at US Mint,Office of the Director - Office of Chief Counsel. As a Attorney Advisor, you will perform legal research in connection with all phases of the work of the U.S. Mint and makes recommendations or furnishes advice to the Chief Counsel on the law applicable to the problems assigned to him/her. The work includes research and preparation of final opinions, memoranda, letters, briefs and other papers for the Chief Counsel's signature concerning laws and regulations.
What You'll Do
- →The following are the duties of this position at GS-14.
- →If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Advise the Chief Counsel on the impact of proposed legislation on the U.S.
- →Mint and the Treasury Department and keeps his/her supervisor advised of the legislative history of such legislation.
- →The incumbent also represents the Mint in various third-party proceedings, such as hearings on discrimination complaints and labor arbitrations.
- →Provide legal advice and counsel to the Director of the Mint concerning the functions and activities of the Mint.
- →Perform legal research in connection with all phases of the work of the U.S.
- →Mint and makes recommendations or furnish advice to the Chief Counsel on the law applicable to the problems assigned to him/her.
Requirements
- ✓All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.

- ✓You are encouraged to actively engage with your supervisor, seek feedback, and understand role expectations.
- ✓Additional guidance and support will be provided during onboarding.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
