- →As an Attorney Advisor, you will: Be responsible for the analysis of the legal issue in question, the development of the strategy to deal with the legal issue, and the content and means of delivery of the completed analysis of the legal issue.
- →Provide legal advice to high level agency officials and be responsible for effectively presenting the agency position before administrative orjudicial bodies.
- →Review applications for specific governmental approval or protection and have final approval authority.
- →Review the work of lower graded attorneys and provide final approval of applications preliminarily approved by the lower graded attorney.
Requirements
- ✓The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia.
- ✓Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
- ✓Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓A 2-year trial period is required.
- ✓(unless already completed) Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓This requirement is applicable for GS 12, GS 13, and GS 14 attorney position(s).
- ✓Please refer to "Additional Information Section for additional Conditions of Employment." Attorney positions do have an education requirement.
- ✓Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school with an LL.B. or J.D.
