About the Role
This position is located in the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity Office (OEEO), Office of the General Counsel. The incumbent of this position serves as a legal advisor to the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity on all matters pertaining to the equal employment opportunity program, its policy, procedures and implementation of the foregoing laws, rules and regulations.
What You'll Do
- →Provides legal advice and guidance to management officials, supervisors, EEO staff, and collateral duty EEO Counselors regarding EEO laws, complaint processing procedures, and compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and EEOC guidance.
- →Analyzes the legal sufficiency, timeliness, and merits of EEO complaints and prepares legal analyses, draft decisions, and recommendations based on applicable laws, regulations, EEOC decisions, and court precedent.
- →Facilitates resolution of complex and sensitive EEO matters involving managers, employees, attorneys, union representatives, and external stakeholders while ensuring settlements comply with applicable legal standards and remedial requirements.
- →Additional duties may include research, writing and planning for affirmative employment program memoranda and related events; preparation and conduct of trainings; and possible additional tasks related to coordination of EEO counseling and ADR.
Requirements
- ✓This position has a basic education requirement listed under the Qualifications section of this announcement.
- ✓(NOTE: Current NLRB Attorneys may not be required to submit a copy of their transcripts.
- ✓However, NLRB employees within 3 years from receiving their Juris Doctorate degree, must provide a transcript with their application package.) You must meet all qualification requirements.
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
