About the Role
This position is located at Office of Government Ethics, Ethics Transparency and Assistance Division. As an Attorney-Adviser (General), you will produce written work and carry out assignments based on research of statutes, regulations, Executive Orders, case law, and other writings that support the administration of the government-wide ethics program and an Executive Branch agency.
What You'll Do
- →The following are the duties of this position at the GS-15 .
- →If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Provide advice and counsel to senior executives and supervisors on employment issues, personnel related matters, and Executive Branch administrative laws and policies.
- →Research legal issues which are often complex and draft written letters, memoranda, and other legal documents on a variety of topics, which may include general law topics such as the Freedom of Information Act and fiscal law.
- →Assist senior attorneys, the Chief of Staff, and the Director through research and writing related to all aspects of the administration and legal compliance of the agency.

- ✓Education Requirements: Law Degree: Applicants must possess a J.D. or LL.B from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) AND Bar Membership: Applicants must currently be an active member in good standing of the bar in any state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- ✓If selected, the applicant must provide proof of bar membership.
