About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to provide legal advice, counsel, and opinions on legal matters relating to the National Guard Bureau's (NGB) Standards of Conduct Program and other administrative law programs. The work often involves complex factual questions requiring extensive analysis coupled with the use of technical experts, very large sums of money, and extremely capable opposing legal talent on matters having nation-wide interest.
What You'll Do
- →A General Law Advisor advises the Chief, NGB, the Vice Chief, NGB, and the Director of the NGB Joint Staff on a host of general law matters.
- →Incumbent acts as the lead ethics advisor to the Chief and Vice Chief, NGB, the Directors of the Army and Air National Guard and their respective staffs, and the full-time State and Staff Judge Advocates.
- →Incumbent provides the full range of legal services but focuses primarily on NGB's Standards of Conduct Program.
- →Incumbent also provides administrative law support to senior leaders and conducts legal sufficiency reviews for complex investigations and NGB Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) responses.
Requirements
- ✓Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
- ✓The attorney must maintain such bar membership in at least one jurisdiction during the entire course of employment with the Air Force.
