About the Role

This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and is responsible for audit oversight of NCUA's programs and operations and the leadership and management of all Office of Audit functions and activities.

What You'll Do

  • The OIG conducts this work with the highest degree of independence, in accordance with the Inspector General Act.
  • As the Assistant Inspector General for Auditing, you will: Provide overall leadership and management of an audit program that balances priorities, both immediate and long term, with the operational capabilities of the Office of Audit.
  • Lead development, implementation, and continuous management of the OIG's annual audit work plan, including risk assessment, audit scoping, and methodology selection.
  • Oversee execution of complex, sensitive audits and ensures all engagements meet government auditing standards, quality requirements, and established OIG policies and procedures.
  • Direct preparation of audit reports, presentations, and briefings for senior NCUA leadership and the NCUA Board, ensuring clear findings, sound analyses, and defensible recommendations.
  • Provide strategic oversight of audit resources, including budget planning, contract management, staff training, and talent management for the OIG audit team.
  • Serve as a senior OIG representative and liaison to the NCUA Board, GAO, and high-level stakeholders across federal agencies, contributing to major financial, IT security, and performance audit discussions.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the agency to support OIG initiatives, monitor corrective actions, and strengthen accountability and transparency in NCUA programs and operations.
  • Manage and supervise a staff.
