About the Role

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Accounting Division. The incumbent will serve as a first-level supervisor with managerial responsibilities and authorities for the oversight and direction of program and administrative activities that involve NTSB financial standards, policies, and procedures for financial management and reporting.

What You'll Do

  • As a Accounting Officer,GS-0510-15, you will perform the following major duties: At the GS-15, typical duties may include: Serves as consultant and advisor to the CFO on accounting principles, standards, practices, and functions.
  • Establishes and ensures compliance with uniform accounting standards and controls for NTSB accounting operations.
  • Serves as focal point on matters involving the Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act of 1990, as amended by the Government Management Reform Act of 1994.
  • Supervises staff assigned to the Division.
  • Plans and coordinates work to be accomplished and sets priorities and schedules for completion.
  • Assigns work based on priorities.

  • GENERAL EDUCATION: All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at an institution that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
