You will serve as an Accountant in the Financial Management Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
What You'll Do
- →You will analyze financial records, reports, and automated accounting transactions when accounting problems are identified that affect system development or operations.
- →You will direct the development and maintenance of manual financial records and support the design, revision, and maintenance of automated systems.
- →You will review output data, investigate automated financial system complaints, and provide assistance to users.
- →You will assist management with overcoming operational problems using financial data.
- →You will examine documents, records, and accounting reports to assure conformance with regulations and policies.
- →You will apply accounting knowledge in new and novel ways to solve problems.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess (A) Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR (B) Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
