About the Role
You will serve as a ACCOUNTANT in the Comptroller Group, Accounting Dept, Gen Ledger Dic of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
What You'll Do
- →You will perform a wide range of analytical duties in support of the General Ledger Division.
- →You will have a thorough understanding of month-end and year-end processing in NERP-SAP.
- →You will have the ability to file financial reports in Department of Navy Industrial Budget Information System (DONIBIS) and Department of Defense Reporting System – Budgetary (DDRS-B) as necessary.
- →You will work closely with General Ledger staff and management in the preparation, reconciliation and validation of financial statements and general ledger postings.
- →You will brief senior management on financial position against budgeted/phased numbers and explain variances and represent the command in meetings with other system commands and NERP.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
- ✓In addition to meeting the basic requirements, in lieu of specialized experience you may qualify based on education or a combination of education and experience:3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree .A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
