About the Role
You will serve as an Accountant in the Accounting Department, Financial Accounting Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will maintain accounting records and ledgers that include information on unit costs, expenses, inventories, sales costs, overhead distribution and revenues for services provided.
- →You will prepare analyses and interpret statements of financial condition and other accounting reports.
- →You will design, adapt, install, evaluates and/or revise prescribed accounting systems including accounts, reports, records, devices for controls and related procedures.
- →You will use accounting information to help solve management problems through advice and collaboration.
- →You will research accounting and disbursing policies and procedures and conducts evaluation of accounting practices and systems.
Requirements
- ✓EDUCATION IS NOT SUBSTITUTABLE FOR EXPERIENCE AT THIS GRADE LEVEL, BUT THIS POSITION DOES HAVE AN EDUCATION REQUIREMENT AND YOU MUST MEET THAT REQUIREMENT.
- ✓Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
- ✓In addition to meeting the basic requirements, in lieu of specialized experience you may qualify based on education or a combination of education and experience:3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
