About the Role
This position is located in the Office of Finance and Operations, Office of Financial Management, Accountability and Financial Reporting Group. The Group is responsible for Department-wide financial reporting, including compliance with applicable OMB circulars and related guidance. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert and primary consultant in assigned substantive technical Group functions.

- →As an Accountant, GS-0510-14, you will be responsible for: • Performing a variety of difficult and complex accounting and financial management functions involving comprehensive analysis.
- →Analyzing new regulations, directives, and procedures related to accounting and financial management guidance. • Serving as OFM and Departmental Representative in areas of expertise.
- →Assuming a leadership role in the Department. • Monitoring and performing in-depth studies of program operations for impact upon the accounting or financial management systems. • Develops and compiles administrative accounting metrics to inform management oversight and monitoring.

- ✓Basic Requirements: Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") or Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
