About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Indianapolis, IN. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • This position is located within the Office of Finance (OF), Office of the Commissioner, U.S.
  • Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • This position starts at a salary of $107,428.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $139,658.00 (GS-13, Step 10) 13with promotion potential to $139,658 (GS-13 Step 10).

  • Typical duties include: Setting up and conducts meetings, walkthroughs, and site visits with the various program offices to gain a better understanding of their business processes to complete internal control assessments.
  • Conducting internal control assessments over major financial business processes to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the related internal controls.
  • Working with program offices to determine the appropriate remediation action and develop corrective action plans for internal control deficiencies.
  • Monitoring the remediation status and conducts follow up with the program offices for audit findings.
  • Briefing senior leaders within the program offices on the status of the internal control issues and the remediation progress made.
