About the Role

About the Position: As a Victim Advocate in the SHARP program, you'll support service members, families, DoD civilians, and contractors affected by sexual harassment and assault. Your role is to establish vital connections with law enforcement, legal, medical, and community partners to build a robust support network. What You'll Do

  • Provides comprehensive assistance, information, and referral to victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment, offering advocacy and educational services to service members, family members, DoD civilians, and contract personnel, when authorized.
  • Conducts advocacy support, safety assessment and planning, and needs assessment for adult victims of sexual assault, providing a non-clinical response that is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented.
  • Assists in training and outreach sessions for diverse stakeholders and local populations, providing information about SHARP policies, procedures, reporting options, and other pertinent topics delegated by the SARC or Lead SARC.
  • Assists with conducting in-depth analysis of sexual assault and sexual harassment incident data, including trends in reporting, demographics, case outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
  • Maintains contact with clients through follow-up support for ongoing needs related to coping with harassment and assault incidents.
  • Conducts safety planning and initiates the notification process with agencies such as law enforcement, safe shelters, and command to ensure safety and well-being for the victim, affected Family members and the community.
  • Assists with conducting in-depth analysis of sexual assault and sexual harassment incident data, including trends in reporting, demographics, case outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
  • Obtains safe and confidential assistance, safety planning, protective orders, review of prevention, identification, reporting, investigations and assessments, intervention, and treatment services for victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault.
