About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, Field Operations Academy or Air and Marine Operations Academy, located in Glynco, GA.

What You'll Do

  • In this position you will serve as a Training Technician in support of training at one of the OTD Academies or Centers and will be primarily responsible for the coordination and scheduling of OTD training classes.
  • This position starts at a salary of $50,460.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $80,243.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $80,243 (GS-9 Step 10).
  • Major Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to: Supporting training operations by scheduling attendees for classes and coordinating and managing attendee affairs.
  • Ensuring all student administrative requirements have been met to include travel, lodging, transportation, and classroom requirements.
  • Verifying all travel authorizations and vouchers for compliance and accuracy, assisting academy staff and students with resolving issues related to travel authorizations, travel vouchers, and personnel.
  • Coordinating and/or preparing award letters, plaques, and awards; generating graduation notes and programs for ceremonies; securing badges/credentials for issuance and ensures all other administrative requirements for graduations are completed.
  • Maintaining training records, files, and databases through the use of the Agency's learning management system for each class to include, (but not limited to) rosters, schedules, departure information, and grade reports.
