About the Role
The Training Specialist/TMS Domain Manager initiates, administers, coordinates, manages, evaluates, and improves all employee education program activities for VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS). The development of educational programs, materials, courses, and curriculums shall reflect the priorities of the VATVCBHCS mission including characteristics of all current and projected staff and the availability of educational resources in the VA system.
What You'll Do
- →Course Planning (Staff Education Management): Plans, promotes, and develops educational programs and projects by stimulating activity and providing direction.
- →Designs a program for the area of assignment by analyzing the need for personnel, facilities, supplies, and materials, prepares a program plan, and provides ongoing advice and assistance in the program's implementation.
- →The Training Specialist/TMS Domain Manager designs instructional programs, materials, courses, and curricula using learning technologies and adult learning theories.
- →Responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating experiential and traditional educational programming to meet overall objectives.
- →Expected to develop, conduct, and evaluate training programs for employees of the VATVCBHCS.
- →Domain Manager for VATVCBHCS which includes providing TMS and national education updates to the facility.
- →Participating in local and national groups related to TMS, attending TMS meetings or committee meetings, resolving local TMS issues, assisting staff with TMS, and providing TMS reports as needed.
- →Responsible for coordinating with TMS personnel, troubleshooting problems, managing training database for VCB, and acting as a liaison with other services.
- →Coordinates, plans, implements, and evaluates major training programs such and arranges selection of facilitators and course materials for these programs.
- →Manages all equipment, course supplies, participant lists, facilitator training and scheduling necessary for the successful implementation of these programs.
- →Directs and coordinates the Training Management System (TMS) for VATVCBHCS.
- →Duties include training designated personnel, troubleshooting problems, managing training databases, acting as a liaison with national TMS team and other services such as IT.
- →Training Specialist/TMS Domain Manager is the primary manager of the TMS application.
- →In this role he/she assigns courses and curricula, runs reports from the TMS, verifies and marks courses complete and instructs local staff and supervisors in the use of the VA TMS.
