What You'll Do
- →As a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (NUCLEAR POLICY) at the GS-1712-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Researches, designs, develops, and delivers advanced instructional courseware on the U.S. nuclear enterprise, nuclear weapons effects, stockpile management, emerging concepts related to conventional-nuclear integration, and strategic deterrence policy.
- →Serves as a Primary Course Manager for advanced instructional programs, maintaining full accountability for academic quality, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- →Coordinates the integration of guest lecturers, senior military leaders, and external interagency experts into the curriculum.
- →Provides authoritative technical guidance on the physical characteristics, safety, security, system capabilities, life cycle, and component engineering of current and retired U.S. nuclear weapon systems, including Life Extension Programs (LEPs).
- →Builds, manages, and leverages strategic partnerships across a complex network of stakeholders, including the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Service Headquarters, DoE, NNSA, and the National Laboratories (such as Los Alamos, Lawrence Livermore, and Sandia).
