About the Role
About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the Booking Management Office. Provides technical direction, cargo booking support, and guidance on international surface and multi-modal shipments. Coordinates strategic cargo movements, analyzes customer requirements, maintains transit visibility, and monitors contractor performance. Supports humanitarian aid, foreign military sales, unit deployments, and exercises.
What You'll Do
- →Plan, analyze, coordinate, and direct a wide variety of movement requirements, ensuring Ordering Officers are selecting rate favorable/best value carriers and routes to support cargo movement.
- →Provides technical cargo transportation and distribution advice and guidance on all aspects of cargo movements worldwide.
- →Manages a variety of complex programs involving the movement of Department of War (DoW) cargo by ocean transportation.
- →Provide functional oversight of automated systems used in support of Command's cargo booking and cargo management functions.
- →Recommends changes to improve user functionality and operational utility of cargo booking systems, cargo clearance procedures and contractual arrangements.
- →Represents the Command and maintains liaison with a wide range of organizations to support customer requirements for inter modal surface transportation services.
- →Assists Command Brigade Booking Offices and customers with the business processes and operating procedures for submitting cargo shipment requirements.
