What You'll Do
- →Serves as a Supervisory Military Pay Technician with responsibility for managing a work unit performing technical military pay support activities that facilitate the mission of the US Army Financial Management Command (USAFMCOM).
- →Assigns work to subordinate employees based on immediate priorities, workload, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- →Reviews work for technical adequacy and compliance with established policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- →Provides advice, guidance, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- →Interviews candidates for vacant positions; recommends hiring, promotion, reassignment, or separation of employees.
- →Hears and resolves minor employee complaints, referring more serious unresolved complaints to higher-level supervisor; takes minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings, reprimands, and recommends more severe disciplinary action.
- →Responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining internal processes and administrative, technical, and automated systems' controls.
- →Accountable for maintaining a system of procedural controls to ensure the integrity of internal records of any financial accounting transactions.
Requirements
- ✓This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
- ✓Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements.
- ✓Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement.
- ✓GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the qualifying experience requirement.
