This position serves as Supply Technician (Medical) for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System. As a Supply Technician, you will provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties may include, but not limited to: Maintains stock at primary and secondary locations for all clinical and administrative services.
- →Pulling stock inventory and material from main inventory for delivery, replenishing stock, and inventory.
- →Interacts with clinical and administrative customers to ensure issues and needs are met.
- →Communicates to Lead or Supervisor any concerns related to supplies, equipment and procedures, customer issues, etc.
- →Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock and removes outdated items from use.
- →Performs daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment.
- →Resolves differences between records and physical count of stock.
- →Distributes items according to computerized inventory management systems such as GIP.
- →Fills requests based on daily schedules of need or emergent basis.
- →Completes specialty cart preparation and stocking.
- →Cleans shelves and bins in assigned areas.
- →Supports wall-to-wall and periodic inventories.
- →Assists in other functional areas of the section as needed.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
