This position serves as a Supply Technician at the William S. Middleton VA Medical Center, Madison, WI and is responsible to assure that adequate supplies are on hand to provide veteran patient care.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in Logistics, Supply Chain Management Service at the William S.
- →Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, WI., a Complexity Level 1b VHA facility.
- →The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Supply Chain Management Service.
- →Major Duties include: Maintains stock at clinical areas located throughout the hospital for non-recurring clinical prosthetic items.
- →Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates.
- →Checks inventory for stock identified for recalled items and hazard alerts; ensures critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled, resolving deviations when possible, and escalating significant deviations to the supervisor.
- →Performs routine inventory checks by using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule that will allow for timely replenishment orders.
- →Resolves differences between records and physical count of stock.
- →Delivers supplies to other clinic locations in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring supplies and materials delivered are in sterile and operational condition.
- →Assemble of durable medical equipment such as walkers, manual wheelchairs, etc.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 to 4:00 or 8:00 to 4:30 Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
