About the Role

This vacancy is for a GS-2005-7, Supply Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG AIR STATION CORPUS CHRISTI in CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as a/an Supply Technician and be responsible for providing support pertaining to specialized or unique items and tasks consisting with the receipt, storage, issue, and replenishment of a wide variety of supplies.
  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Typical work assignments include: Performs Ready For Issue (RFI) receiving processes, Non-Ready For Issue (NRFI) return processes, RFI and NRFI part number validation, expedites priority overnight RFI parts pool processes in response to supply support needs of other Air Stations as well as the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC.
  • Conducts inventory counts of all aeronautical Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S), and confirms part numbers against Aviation Maintenance Management Information System (AMMIS), Asset Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS), Fleet Logistics System (FLS), and the Defense Logistics Information Service (FEDLOG).
  • Oversees inventory control, including maintaining accurate daily inventory count, and monitor inventory variances.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and controls procurement documents, assembles and manages technical support information for the Aviation Aeronautical Engineering Department.
  • Initiates procurement requests to fill required inventory levels.
  • Coordinates vendor, source of supply issues, and delivery dates with maintenance shops.
  • Monitors process through completion of all procurements.
  • Stock level management is based on usage, inventory, project, and seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
  • Update Coast Guard logistics databases for all issue and receive transactions.
