About the Role

This position serves as a Supply Systems Analyst within the Office of the Director and is assigned Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 1. New England Healthcare System. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week. Location negotiable within VISN 1, upon selection.

What You'll Do

  • The Supply Systems Analyst (Network Non-Expendable Manager (NEM) is a senior logistics and supply chain management (SCM) advisor to the Network Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) with emphasis on logistics operations and management of non expendable equipment.
  • Provides a full continuum of health care services through medical centers, community-based and in-home programs, clinics, and extended care facilities.
  • Duties include but not limited to: Provides oversight, guidance, program management and leadership in operations and planning activities for all non-expendable (NX) programs.
  • This includes analytics, standardization of business processes, performance measurement/management, quality assurance/compliance, and reporting.
  • Monitors and manages the performance and measurement functions including all aspects of NX management and/or equipment standardization activities (including requirements determination, acquisition planning/coordination/oversight, purchasing, etc.).
  • Ensures best practices are disseminated as appropriate, utilizing continuous quality improvement principles and practices such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Supports and facilitates education and training opportunities for staff in all logistics areas, particularly logistics operations and NX management.
  • Works closely with leadership to ensure a thoroughly integrated, future-focused, and well-panned equipment management program is implemented.
  • Conducts logistics audits, quality assurance, compliance reviews and program effectiveness/efficiency reviews of all activities.
  • Reveals improvement opportunities, acts as the catalyst and coordinates on behalf with facility leadership to ensure these opportunities are realized.
  • Performs complex analytical studies, financial analyses, program planning, and outcome evaluations.
  • Provide objective assessments, prioritizes issues, and takes appropriate actions ensuring key issues are reported to leadership.
  • Makes decisions on work problems presented by other staff and by contractors.

  • HCP in violation of this directive may face disciplinary action up to & including removal from federal service.
  • HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations or who come into contact with VA patients or other HCP as part of their duties.
  • VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals & associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliary units, Vet centers & VA-leased medical facilities.
  • HCP include all VA licensed & unlicensed, clinical & administrative, remote & onsite, paid & without compensation, full- & part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, researchers, volunteers & health professions trainees (HPTs) who are expected to perform any or all of their work at these facilities.
  • HPTs may be paid or unpaid & include residents, interns, fellows & students.
  • HCP also includes VHA personnel providing home-based care to Veterans & drivers & other personnel whose duties put them in contact with patients outside VA medical facilities.
