About the Position: This position is located with the US Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort McCoy, Directorate of Emergency Services, Police/Provost Marshal Div at Ft. McCoy, WI. Fort McCoy is located in west-central Wisconsin, midway between Chicago and Minneapolis, just off Interstates 90 & 94. What You'll Do
- →Manage 911 emergency dispatch operations to respond with appropriate emergency services to include police, fire, hazardous material, technical rescue and ambulance.
- →Refer non-emergency callers to appropriate civilian and governmental agencies.
- →Coordinates with Directorate of Public Works (DPW) regarding installation, maintenance and use of emergency alert systems.
- →Coordinates ongoing radio frequency licensing with the Installation Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
- →Responsible for caller interrogation to determine problem and nature of call.
- →Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response.
- →Monitor severe weather reporting system and broadcasting alerts as necessary.
- →Responsible for monitoring closed circuit television systems to identify activity requiring response.
- →Provide technical direction to the operation and interface of emergency services data bases and systems.
- →Provide consults as the 911 emergency dispatch center subject matter expert.
- →Develop standard operating procedures for effective operation.
- →Supervise a staff of dispatchers.
