This position serves as a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist for non-expendable assets/material in a VA Health Care System (VA HCS) and supported catchment area. Supervises multiple supply or material classes/series. Is recognized as Material Management Section's subject matter expert and serves as advisor and consultant to the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) and Assistant CSCO on property management matters for sound material management concepts, and control of all personal property.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Lifecycle Management Responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets.
- →Develops multi-year equipment and non-expendable (NX) plans.
- →Utilizes advanced automated non-expendable planning tools.
- →Participates in strategic planning and quality management of the equipment program.
- →Executes equipment replacement planning integrated with management budgetary plans and consistent with life expectancy of equipment.
- →Applies performance improvement methodologies to enhance overall management of NX assets.
- →Conducts analysis and uses extensive knowledge of NX assets to identify and recommend standardization opportunities.
- →Supply Management Manages and controls NX equipment and inventory of all NX assets.
- →Provides comprehensive logistics and supply chain support for pre-planning, preparation, and purchase of equipment.
- →Implements and monitors automated NX inventory management systems.
- →Analyzes, studies, develops, and directs systems related to NX equipment requirements.
- →Supervision Supervises employees across separate but interrelated units.
- →Makes recommendations for promotions, reassignments, and awards.
- →Develops position descriptions and performance standards.
