About the Role

You will serve as a Supervisory Project Planner - PDC3-CONUS, in the Planning Design & Construction Directorate of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic. These positions may be filled by NAVFAC employees at any of the locations shown above.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as a specialist in data analytics, metrics and NAVFAC E-Systems used to manage PDC workload, labor, and staffing.
  • You will supervise staff in specific tasks, providing guidance and instruction on a project or portfolio of projects, and giving on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring employees with variable experience levels.
  • You will produce a variety of project determination/planning products/services supporting facility/infrastructure planning studies and projects, including FSRM, acquisition solutions and projects for the Navy, Marine Corps, and supported commands.
  • You will Investigate and resolves problems for which existing guides or criteria are not fully applicable or for which little or no prior experience data exists.
  • You will produce decisions/recommendations for unique, complex situations that require technical solutions, mitigation strategies, or alternatives.
  • You will provide technical skills for a broad spectrum of planning products and services that includes land-use compatibility, mission requirements analyses, economic analyses, and parametric cost estimates.

Requirements

  • FOR THE 0801 ENGINEERING SERIES: Professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • FE examination is not administered by the U.

  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
  • (Note - In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required).
