About the Role

This position is responsible for the supervision of all technical reviewers and their functions of processing all personnel actions, resolving issues in DCIPS and REMEDY, and processing (PRO) actions in HRSmart (ER, R&P, benefits, etc.) to ensure compliance with regulations and interpretation of the organization's Personnel Accountability, HR policies and procedures to address issues that require substantial interpretation.

What You'll Do

  • NOTE: This is a temporary promotion opportunity NTE 1 year.

  • Major duties include but are not limited to: Serves as technical expert and consultant for assigned mission areas.
  • Provides authoritative technical leadership, advice and assistance on complex matters.
  • Responsible for reviewing, auditing, and correction of erroneous personnel actions.
  • Leads the development of business processes, system requirements, and directives/policies to support new, enhanced workforces management capabilities.
  • Serves as a senior advisor on VISN-wide technical review matters in HRSmart and is responsible for providing expert technical assistance and in the successful development, deployment, training and support for new automated technologies and integration of systems within VA.
  • Consults with VISN HR leadership to identify needs and develops tools and knowledge products to meet those needs.
  • Ensures technical reviews have the appropriate training and tools to ensure compliance and accuracy with coding and records management in e-OPF.
  • Develops performance plans and major performance objectives and provides advice and assistance on performance.
  • Oversees the daily operation of the Technical Review unit.
  • Provides technical and administrative supervision to a unit of HR Specialists and administrative support staff.
  • Responsible for the training, mentoring and coaching of staff.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
