About the Role
This position serves as a Staffing Section Chief within the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). You will provide technical guidance, leadership, and supervision to a team of human resources specialists and assistants. Core responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and overseeing federal staffing and recruitment operations for all of FSIS and Shared Services customers while ensuring operations comply with federal laws, regulations, and service level agreements.
What You'll Do
- →Plan, coordinate, and direct personnel functions in the areas of staffing and recruitment.
- →Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include evaluating employee performance; overseeing the timely and efficient work of staff; setting and adjusting staff priorities and deadlines; identifying team training needs.
- →Interpret Federal Human Resources regulations, policies, and procedures, and provide technical guidance to staff.
- →Mentor subordinates and team members.
- →Prepare various reports.
- →Research personnel regulations, laws, and policies Resolve complex work problems or complaints.
