About the Role
This position is located within the VISN-9 Employee/Labor Relations Shared Services Unit (SSU).
What You'll Do
- →The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Plans and carries out activities to manage employee/labor relations for an integrated healthcare network.
- →Responsible for Employee Relations/Labor relations and Drug-free Workplace for the Network.
- →Develop effective strategies and creative solutions to problematic issues.
- →Provide authoritative advice and supportable recommendations to supervisors and top management officials.
- →Research, interpret, and apply regulations and case law.
- →Develop goals, objectives, and work plans.
- →Apply complex fact finding, analytical, and problem solving methods and techniques.
- →Plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of an Employee and Labor Relations section.
- →Integrate work efforts and negotiate acceptable solutions with those who have alternate agendas.
- →Establish priorities and adjust/respond to changing issues, requirements, and situations.
- →Utilize communication techniques such as persuasion, conflict resolution, negotiation, motivation, etc.
- →Prepare technical reports, correspondence, policy statements, and recommendations.
- →Gain confidence and cooperation of supervisors and managers on difficult issues.
- →Utilize tools for effective service delivery and achievement of desired results and application.
