The position is in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Office of Human Capital Services (HCS), Office of Staff Operations (OSO), Jackson, MS Human Resources Center (HRC).The HCS Training, Quality Assurance & Data Analytics Chief serves as the alter ego to the Training Deputy and provides guidance and recommendations for the implementation of training initiatives nationwide on the OSO Team.
What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Develops weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual training plans for personnel assigned to the HRC.
- →Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the approved training budget.
- →Conducts extensive planning and data analyses activities in overseeing the design and evaluation of training processes, including workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- →Drafts/proposes annual budgets for training activities under the oversight of the Training Deputy, and monitors expenditures throughout the fiscal year.
- →Develops short- and long-range plans and recommendations to meet organizational goals, objectives, and changing needs.
- →Evaluates overall program accomplishments and significant contributions in terms of overall agency goals, and capitalizes on state-of-the-art technology to analyze trends and measure results.
- →Prepares reports, maintains records, and provides information to Training Deputy and Director on performance of the team and individuals.
- →Represents the team in meetings and dealings with others on related issues.
- →The incumbent is often privy to discussions and/or decisions which are sensitive in nature, are in the early stages of development and may be controversial, or contain personal information and views, and the utmost discretion must be applied.
- →The incumbent may be tasked to serve on VA and/or VBA wide task forces, integrated project teams, etc. to investigate, develop and implement new initiatives in managing training programs, professional and occupational development, etc.
- →Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- →Compressed/Flexible: Available.
- →Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only.
- →The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday.
