About the Role

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FLEET AND INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS PLANNER in the PLANNING DIVISION (SPB11) of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC. This is an Interdisciplinary position and may be filled by General Engineer, NH-0801; Computer Engineer NH-0854; Industrial Engineer, Series 0896; Operations Research NH-1515; and Computer Scientist, NH-1550.

What You'll Do

  • You will provide technical guidance to contractors when specialized studies are required to determine their ability to produce critical items.
  • You will serve as oversight to project/program professional engineering, scientists and programs analysts for complex, and unique management and operations assignments.
  • You will conduct advanced planning, forecasting, and technical evaluation activities in support of fleet readiness, industrial and storage capacity, weapon system component inventories, and support equipment inventories.
  • You will apply discipline specific expertise in engineering, operations research, computer science, or systems analysis to optimize and sustain production and mission support operations.
  • You will serve as a technical authority/SME in selection and development of analytical tools or systems by applying engineering principles, computational methods, and analytical techniques to support planning and operations for SWS, INWSS, SLCM N.
  • You will serve as advisory authority relative to all mission support operations execution, management and administration.
  • You will develop, coordinates, and directs operational requirements for the command, based on optimization of complex production systems, standards, work processes, organizational patterns, workflows, and quality controls, and cost controls.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess : Professional Engineering Series Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
  • Operations Research Series 1515 Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.
  • At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
  • Computer Science Series 1550 Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
  • At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
  • All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
