What You'll Do
- →The duties, described below, represent the major duties performed at the GS-12 level.
- →The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience.
- →Evaluate the work of subordinates, develop performance standards, and provide advice and instruction to employees on work and administrative matters of work-related assignments.
- →Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to gather information, complete tasks, and respond to service members promptly.
- →Lead and facilitate process improvement projects to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and improve the quality of work products.
- →This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing implementation plans, and monitoring results.
- →Plan and assign work to be accomplished based on priorities, consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and employees’ capabilities, including setting/adjusting short-term priorities and schedules for completion of work.
- →Identify training and developmental needs of employees, provide or arrange for needed development and training.
Requirements
- ✓GS-11 Substitution of Education for Experience: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
- ✓Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
- ✓If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.
- ✓To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
- ✓GS 12 and above: Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
- ✓If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.
